Is it possible to integrate a 3D mapping platform, for example, Virtual Wayz, into my Mappedin Map?
What type of experience are you looking to achieve. If it’s the view of the map as if someone was walking, this can be done by moving the camera in an app that integrates the Mappedin SDK. This blog post has an example: Walk This Way: Animating Realistic Indoor Navigation with Mappedin JS.
We would like to integrate the Virtual Wayz 3D platform, which provides a street view navigation of the map similar to google earth.
How are you looking to integrate? How would Mappedin be used?
Mapped in would open as the initial view of the area, and then if guests wants to virtually walk around the space, they could click on the street view and its would bring them into the 3D platform we’ve built. I hope that makes sense. The maps will be on the venue website and app.
It sounds like you’re looking for something similar to the security camera feed demo in our Building Manager Sample. Follow that link and choose Cameras from the left menu and then click on a camera icon. It opens a fictitious camera feed where a video is played within a Marker. Clicking away from the video will close it. That example provides some example code showing how that’s done. Instead of a camera feed, you may be able to open a Virtual Wayz view (if it’s web based).
Okay, that could work - the 3D platform is web based!
