Editors Access to Pricing?

Hi there,
I noticed that inviting a user as an “Editor”, they still see the Pricing tab. My feeling is that editors should not have access to pricing/upgrading or billing activities. These should be reserved only for Owner roles, and maybe Admins.

Here’s a few reasons:

  • If I hire a freelancer to build a map for me as an editor I do not want them to activate billing activities.
  • If I build a map and give a facilities manager editor access, I don’t want the facilities manager to accidentally change their billing level, or cause charges to our account.

It seems to make sense that an Editor should only “Edit” the maps. Does anyone else agree?

  • Yes, let’s hide the pricing tab for editors.
  • No, we need editors to access pricing.

Love the feedback, thank you!

To clarify, only workspace owners can see the billing details and only owners can start the initial subscription. The pricing tab links to the pricing page that is already publicly available on the website.

It is true that editors are able to add to the subscription by upgrading free maps up into the active subscription that the owner first created. Our original intention here was to give teams the ability to work quickly and not get blocked by approval walls.

All that said, I understand your request. It is reasonable to want more control over this.

The timing is also good as we are about to make an important update to our collaboration feature very soon :trade_mark:

Thanks Claudio!
I appreciate the consideration. I think it would be very helpful to have ‘one’ role that does not have links or access to pricing. I understand the company need to keep your plans out there and available, but giving access to the wrong people for billing activities can have disastrous consequences. I also believe that putting price packages in front of the wrong people can take away from their purpose of collaboration. So that’s my 2 cents - keep the pricing/upgrades and anything billing related at the decision maker level. Thanks again!
