Freelance Job: Help Us Create an Indoor/Outdoor Digital Map for Wayfinding

We are looking for a freelancer or small team to help us create a digital map for a wayfinding project.

The goal is to create a clean, usable map that can be used in our digital wayfinding system. The map should help visitors understand where they are, find shops/points of interest, and navigate through the area.

Project Scope

We need help with:

  • Creating or cleaning up a map based on reference material such as floor plans, site plans, drawings, screenshots, photos, or existing map data.

  • Mapping important areas, paths, entrances, buildings, floors, shops, rooms, services, and points of interest.

  • Making the map suitable for digital wayfinding.

  • Preparing the map in a structured format that our technical team can use.

  • Helping define walkable paths/routes between locations.

  • Adding labels and location names.

  • Delivering organized source files and export files.

What We Are Looking For

You should have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Indoor mapping

  • Outdoor mapping

  • Wayfinding maps

  • Floor plan cleanup

  • CAD, Illustrator, Figma, QGIS, Blender, Mapbox, OpenStreetMap, or similar tools

  • Creating maps for shopping malls, campuses, airports, hospitals, offices, or public spaces

  • Preparing map data for developers or digital signage systems

Experience with 3D maps, WebGL maps, Mapbox, GeoJSON, GLB/3D models, or route/path networks is a big plus, but not required.

Deliverables

We would like the final delivery to include:

  • A clean visual map

  • Editable source files

  • Exported map files

  • List of all mapped points of interest

  • Walkable paths/routes if applicable

  • Clear naming of shops, entrances, floors, buildings, and services

  • Documentation explaining the structure of the delivered files

Preferred formats may include:

  • SVG

  • PDF

  • PNG/JPG preview

  • GeoJSON

  • GLB/3D model

  • CAD/DWG/DXF

  • Figma/Illustrator source file

Exact format can be discussed depending on your workflow.

Important Requirements

The map must be accurate, clean, and structured. It should not only look good visually, but also be useful for a digital wayfinding system.

We need someone who can work carefully, ask questions when something is unclear, and deliver files in an organized way.
